Nicotomide is one of two forms of vitamin B3, the other is the cytotoxic acid. Nicotomide is usually found in animal products such as meat and poultry. The body can also produce Nicotamide from tryptophan, an amino acid present in most protein-containing foods. Nicotomide plays an important role in maintaining skin health and is therefore popular in the cosmetics industry.

It is a non-toxic form of vitamin B3, which does not cause the typical side effects of niacin even if consumed in higher doses. Vitamin B3 is essential for the energy metabolism of cells.
