Vitamin e is the collective name that is attributed to a group of liposoluble compounds to antioxidant activities, which are presented in eight chemical forms (alpha, beta, gamma and delta-tocofuro and alpha, beta, gamma and delta-tocotrienol) with different levels of biological activity. Alfa (α) Tocoferolo is the only form that allows to meet human needs.

The concentrations in the blood of vitamin E (alpha-tocoferol) depend on the liver, which takes charge of the nutritional substance after the various forms have been absorbed by the small intestine.

vitamin e is a liposoluble antioxidant (which melts in fats) which interrupts the production of free radicals that form when fats undergo some metabolic transformations. In addition to its activity as an antioxidant, vitamin E is involved in the immune defenses and, as shown mainly by the in vitro studies, in the transmission of signals between the cells, in the regulation of gene expression and in other metabolic processes.
