NOW Foods is an American supplement brand founded in 1968 by Elwood Richard in Illinois, and it is still owned by the Richard family. NOW's story starts in 1962, when Elwood Richard opened a natural foods store in Elmhurst, Illinois. In 1968 he founded NOW Foods, in a small space inside the family business Fearn Soya; in 1998 the company moved into the Bloomingdale facility where it is still based. NOW is still owned by the Richard family.

How to choose a NOW Foods product

For vitamins and minerals, check the amount per serving and the percentage of the nutrient reference values (NRV) in the table, and check the form, which is printed on the label: magnesium L-threonate or zinc picolinate, for example. If you take more than one supplement, add up the amounts of the same vitamin or mineral. Compare products on the grams of each ingredient per serving, not on the weight of the pack, and always follow the daily dose stated on the label: a supplement is no substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
