Dorian Yates and DY Nutrition

Dorian Yates is one of the best-known names in the history of bodybuilding: he won Mr. Olympia six consecutive times, from 1992 to 1997. In 2011 he founded DY Nutrition, and in 2018, at FIBO in Cologne, he presented the relaunched range, with the Blood & Guts pre-workout, ShadoWhey protein and the Game Changer Mass gainer.

The Dorian Yates range at Citymuscle

The most searched product is Blood & Guts, in a tub and in sachets, in the Pre-Workout category together with the M6teen shots. Among the protein powders you will find ShadoWhey and Whey Complex in Whey Protein, ShadoWhey Hydrolysate in Protein Isolated and Hydrolyzed and Micellar Casein in Caseins; Metabolic Mass is in Mass & Weight Gainers.

The amino acids are HIT BCAA, in 4:1:1 and 10:1:1 ratios, in Branched Amino Acids (BCAA), and HIT EAA in Essential Amino Acids (EAA); creatine is in Creatine Monohydrate. The DY Life range brings together softgel oils: fish, krill and cod liver oil in Omega 3 and Fish Oil, coconut, pumpkin seed and black cumin oil in Other Fatty Acids, plus vitamins and coenzyme Q10.

How to choose a Dorian Yates product

For a pre-workout such as Blood & Guts, check the caffeine per serving and the other ingredients first, especially if you train in the evening. For protein, compare the grams per serving; for BCAA, the ratio shows the proportions of leucine, isoleucine and valine, not the amount. Compare products on the grams of each ingredient per serving, not on the weight of the pack, and always follow the daily dose stated on the label: a supplement is no substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
